The Real Problem

Most equine gut health approaches miss the root cause.

Horse owners often find themselves managing the same patterns over and over again.

Do these issues sound familiar?

  • Loose manure that improves, then returns.
  • Fecal water despite multiple changes.
  • Digestive changes after travel or stress.
  • Feed adjustments that help temporarily.
  • Performance that fluctuates without obvious explanation.

When digestive instability keeps returning, the gut environment has never fully stabilized.

The problem is not always what we are feeding or adding. It is where we are looking.

Case observation

Five years of the same pattern. Then it held.

I am the owner of a 29 year old paint pony, Skippy. We have owned him for the past 5 years. He has struggled with chronic diarrhea for most of that time. He was on local hay, and we had to suddenly switch him to timothy, and that is when the diarrhea began. Sometimes the probiotics seemed to help a bit, but every time we opened a new bale of hay, the diarrhea would come back.

At first, the diarrhea didn't get better. It seemed to get a bit worse. After about a week, though, his stool became perfect, and has remained that way since. He has been on it for 2.5 months now, and he is now eating normally and well, and hasn't had any diarrhea since.

I give him a maintenance dose daily, and have been able to re-introduce timothy into his diet. I no longer need to use probiotics. He did have a bit of FFWS along with the diarrhea, but that also has gone.

No digestive upset with different hay nor with the change of season.

A different starting point

Supporting the microbes starts with their environment.

Probiotics add microorganisms. Humequine focuses on supporting the gut environment that beneficial microbes depend on.

How it works

Inside Humequine

Formulated with humic and fulvic acid, the same carbon compounds found in nutrient-rich soil. Three functions, working in the gut environment every day.

  • Carbon fuels beneficial bacteria

Beneficial bacteria need carbon to grow and do their work. Humequine supplies it in a bioavailable form, supporting the microbial activity at the centre of a stable gut environment.

  • Humic acid binds

Humic acid binds to unwanted compounds in the gut, supporting natural detoxification. It helps keep the environment beneficial microbes live in clear and balanced.

  • Fulvic acid delivers

Fulvic acid binds to nutrients and water molecules for enhanced absorption and hydration, helping your horse make use of what the ration already provides.

The practice

Your first month, then where your horse stays.

Microbiome Management is a daily practice: Reset and Stabilize over the first 30 days, then Maintain. One formula, added to feed or grain. Digestive Stability, built daily.

  1. Reset

    Days 1 to 10

6 mL per 45 kg (100 lbs) daily

Start at the Reset amount on day one, no build-up. A stronger first ten days to set the routine in motion.

  2. Stabilize

    Days 11 to 30

4 mL per 45 kg (100 lbs) daily

A steady amount while the new routine settles in.

  3. Where your horse stays

    Maintain

    Day 31 onward

2 mL per 45 kg (100 lbs) daily, or 4 mL for performance horses

Daily care that keeps the conditions for Digestive Stability in place.

    About $0.47 a day for a 454 kg (1,000 lbs) horse, on the 4 L.

Plus a Seasonal Reset every six months, as the seasons turn: ten days at the Reset amount, then back to Maintain.

These are feeding stages, not deadlines for results.

One 4 L covers the whole first month for a 454 kg (1,000 lbs) horse, then over four months of Maintain.

What is inside
  • How to manage forage, feed and change, day to day
  • Why adding bacteria is not always enough
  • What Digestive Stability looks like in a real horse
Daily dosing
Stage Daily dose Example, 500 kg (1,100 lbs) horse
Reset, days 1 to 10 6 mL per 45 kg (100 lbs) of body weight About 67 mL
Stabilize, days 11 to 30 4 mL per 45 kg (100 lbs) of body weight About 44 mL
Maintain, from day 31 2 mL per 45 kg (100 lbs), or 4 mL for performance horses About 22 mL, or 44 mL

A daily total, added to feed or grain. Give it once a day or split it across feedings. A horse with digestive issues stays on the Stabilize amount until manure has been consistent for 10 days in a row, then moves to the maintenance dose. We recommend a Seasonal Reset every six months: ten days at the Reset amount, then back to Maintain. For a foal, or a pregnant or nursing mare, ask us first.
